You know how when you were a kid you would turn over a flat rock and find a bunch of roly-polys?  Well, sometimes you turn over a rock on the internet and you find something like this.  This is up there with the Subservient Chicken.

Oh Lord, won't you buy me... a Tesla Roadster?
It’s a $100,000.00, all electric sports car that gets 135 mpg, goes from 0 to 60 in less than 4 seconds, and can travel up to 220 miles per charge. Too bad I don’t know how to drive a stick shift… and I’m not independently wealthy. Link to Tesla Motors

A fancier way to end up in the river
By now you’ve probably heard of at least one story where some poor fellow ended up in the river or stuck on the train tracks because they blindly followed their GPS. Virtual Cable makes a GPS that superimposes a red line over the road to show the driver where to go next.  Looks pretty cool as long as drivers don’t turn their brains over to the thing.

Ninja Words →
It really is fast. (Most of the time, anyway.) You can type in http://ninjawords.com/word to get the definition of a word or you can type your search into the box. It uses a community-built dictionary called Wiktionary, so it sometimes can’t find a word, but I still find it useful for quick lookups.

Brown Discombobulated Dancing Disco Bear
(Link: When Angry Animation Students Attack on cartoonbrew.com) You can’t tell me that’s not funny! Click on the link to view the video.  A quote from the page: Colin Sanders, a game development student at UOIT, was frustrated by the quality of instruction in his animation class. Below is the animated piece he created for his final using all of the techniques that were taught by...

Afterworld
Writer’s strike got you down?  Afrraid of having to resort to reruns of “Who’s the Boss?” and Happy Days?  Maybe this will tide you over?  Afterworld is an animated sci-fi story.  It’s not exactly the matrix, but I find the story kind of interesting.  (Picture: Waiting for the four horsemen)

Hawks, Heat To Replay End Of OT After Protest C’mon Miami. You’re in last place in the same division as the Hawks. Just abandon hope. Besides, you’ve already won a championship in my lifetime. Give the Hawks a break!

Solar Super Soaker Someday? →
(Read the Article [popularmechanics.com])  I heard Lonnie Johnson speak at a SECME banquet during my senior year in high school.  I recall little of his speech, but I remember the rest of the night pretty well.   I picked up a buddy of mine and drove down to the Hilton.  When we left the banquet, FreakNik was in full swing.  The party goers had stopped on the interstate, gotten out of their cars...

Quotes like this are pure geek nutrition
“…even though I’m the pinky toe on the Voltron we make when we come together, it’s still a pretty bad ass robot.” -Wil Wheaton (With a quote like that in it, the rest of his blog entry could be pops and whistles for all I care. -Me)

Oooohhh! Me wants!
(Image via Flickr) It’s gadgets like this that really get my salivary glands working overtime.  It’s an open software/open hardware digital media player platform.  In nearly-plain english, it can record television shows and save them in a format that you can move to other devices like your PC or IPod.   Since it’s an open platform, anybody can write software for it. ...

First Post! FTW!
Consider this inaugural post sort of a first draft of this blog in general.  I created the blog nearly 2 weeks ago, and I had every intention of posting something.  However, Mass Effect coincided with my 11 day holiday break and a very patient and understanding wife to create the perfect storm of sloth.  I am almost ashamed to admit that I spent over 30 hours playing Mass Effect over the...
